Nonlinear Control of Electro-hydraulic Systems
Hydraulic systems have been widely used in industry due to the ability to apply very large forces and torque; examples like excavators, hydraulic robot manipulators, injection molding machine, and flight simulator. However, the dynamics of hydraulic systems are highly nonlinear and the system may be subjected to non-smooth and discontinuous nonlinearities due to the control input saturation, directional change of valve opening, friction, and valve overlap. In addition, hydraulic systems also have large extent of model uncertainties (e.g., large changes in load and the large variations in the parameters such as bulk modulus).
