Quantum Dot Eigenstate Isosurface Movie
of 7th electron wave function.
The figure above shows the isosurfaces of the 7th electron state wavefunction in a pyramidal quantum dot computed in a single band effective mass model. The axes are in units of crystalline unit cells (~5 Angstrom=0.5 nanometer). The labels 0-40 correspond to 0-20 nanometer. The normalized wavefunction magnitude isosurfaces are ramped between values of 0.01 and 0.99. You can also see the first 8 wavefunctions in a similar display. We generated this result to test our spatial distretization scheme and the eigen energy solver.
