SUSPENSION

The suspension team is responsible for everything that goes between the chassis and the ground. This includes suspension kinematics and vehicle dynamics analysis, as well component design manufacturing and assembly. The suspension teams use kinematics software, tire data, and a variety of student-developed programs to match the suspension kinematics to the tires' optimal conditions and perform vehicle dynamics analysis and simulation. From there the team designs components to be as light as possible without risking failure. Finally, the majority of these components are manufactured in-house using manual and CNC lathes and mills.
