Linda G. Blevins retired in 2025 as senior advisor in the Office of Integrative Activities within the U.S. National Science Foundation's Office of the Director. Before retirement, she served as the executive leader of knowledge management frameworks for the agency and as an advisor to NSF senior leadership at the nexus of the agency's operations, policies, programs and information technology.
Previously, Blevins served four years as deputy assistant director and acting assistant director for NSF's Directorate for Engineering. She also served in the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science, Sandia National Laboratories and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Blevins earned a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama. At Purdue, she was a founding staff member of the Women in Engineering Graduate Mentoring Program.
Blevins has contributed chapters to two books: Women in Academia (Springer, 2026) and Giving Much/Gaining More: Mentoring for Success (Purdue University Press, 2002). She has testified before the U.S. Congress twice.
Blevins is a Purdue University Distinguished Engineering Alumna and a University of Alabama Distinguished Engineering Fellow. In 2023, she received the inaugural National Science Foundation Director's Award for Outstanding Mentorship.
