Emily Wieringa is senior director of development services for VanTrust's Columbus office, where she collaborates with the development team to plan, direct, coordinate and oversee construction projects throughout the Ohio Valley. She has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.

Before joining VanTrust, Wieringa served as a senior project manager for a commercial construction company, overseeing a variety of project delivery methods and construction projects. She also worked as an engineer for the Union County Engineer's Office, where she gained experience in public infrastructure, grant applications and administration and local government policies and procedures.

Wieringa later returned to vertical construction at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, where she rose to vice president of planning and facilities. In that role, she gained experience with construction, operations and maintenance from an owner's perspective while helping develop the master plan for one of the largest zoos in the country and a popular family attraction in central Ohio. Her diverse experience provides a unique perspective in her work with VanTrust's development services team.

Wieringa earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed engineer in Ohio.
