Mariah is currently a Ph.D. student in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University. She received her B.S. in mechanical engineering and B.A. in German language and culture from the University of Southern Indiana. Her undergraduate research focused on stiffness tailoring and shape morphing, and she currently works on the design and analysis of morphing structures, especially those with multistable elements. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and going for the occasional run.
