Khushal Goparaju

Khushal joined the Programmable Structures Lab as a Ph.D. student in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in Fall 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2023. At IIT Bombay, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Krishnendu Haldar on snap-through instability in inflated thin magneto-viscoelastic toroidal shells, and implementation of shape memory alloys in COMSOL for morphing applications by capturing a fully coupled electro-thermo-mechanical system. His research interests include morphing wings, shape memory alloys, bifurcation and continuum mechanics.

Research

  • Magnetic surfaces for remote actuation
