Juanita Latorre Jaramillo earned her Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, graduating summa cum laude. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, where she works as a research assistant in the Programmable Structures Lab. For her senior capstone project, Juanita was involved in a flagship research mission to Uranus, designing probes to collect data. Her primary interests include aerodynamics and smart materials and structures. She is interested in developing high-performance race cars and cutting-edge technologies for motorsports, with a particular emphasis on advancements in electric and hybrid race cars. In her free time, Juanita loves traveling to different countries, immersing herself in local cultures, learning new languages, and staying active through sports and fitness.
