Apply for a Master’s Degree

As you move ahead with the application process, it’s important that you understand the requirements and deadlines for your specific program of interest.

Please note if you apply to two programs, you will need to create two separate application accounts and follow the requirements for each degree (their deadlines and requirements will be unique). Information below outlines where you can find more details on each of our online master’s degrees.

Aeronautics & Astronautics Requirements

Candidates have two options to focus their studies in the area of Aeronautic and Astronautic engineering.  The discipline specific master’s MSAAE program is offered through the School of Aeronautics & Astronautics, candidates seeking this degree apply directly to the School of Aerospace engineering.   The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS in AAE is offered through Engineering Professional Education (EPE), candidates interested in this degree apply to EPE directly.

Computer Science Requirements

Candidates have two options to focus their studies in the area of computer science.  The MS in CS program is offered through the Department of Computer Science (within the College of Science), if you wish to earn this MS you will need to apply directly to the Department of Computer Science and follow their specific deadlines detailed online here. The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS in CS is offered through Engineering Professional Education is a second option and individuals seeking this degree will need to follow the deadlines and requirements for the interdisciplinary MSE/MS.

Dual Degree MSE-MBA Requirements

The MSE/MS-MBA dual degree program is offered through the Division of Engineering Professional Education in partnership with the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Applicants to this program will complete just the Purdue application; however, candidates will supply certain duplicate items and will be reviewed for admission to both degree programs.  Please note a GRE or GMAT score is required for this program.

Electrical & Computer Engineering Requirements

Candidates have two options to focus their studies in electrical and computer engineering.  The MSECE program is offered through the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, candidates seeking this discipline specific degree will need to follow the directions and deadline from the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS in ECE is offered through Engineering Professional Education, individuals seeking this degree will need to follow the requirements and deadlines for the interdisciplinary MSE/MS.

Engineering Management Requirements

The MSE-MS in Engineering Management program s part of our interdisciplinary degree programs offered through the Engineering Professional Education. There are several deadlines a year for this program.

Industrial Engineering Requirements

Candidates have two options to focus their studies in industrial engineering.  The MSIE program is offered through the School of Industrial Engineering, please follow the directions and requirements as outlined by the School of Industrial engineering if applying to the MSIE degree. The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS in IE is offered through Engineering Professional Education, individuals seeking this degree will need to follow the requirements and deadlines for the interdisciplinary MSE/MS.

Interdisciplinary Engineering Requirements

The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS program is offered through Engineering Professional Education.

Mechanical Engineering Requirements

Two options are available for those wishing to specialize their studies in mechanical engineering. The MSME program is offered through the School of Mechanical Engineering. The Interdisciplinary MSE/MS in ME is offered through Engineering Professional Education.
