PMRI Welcomes Second Largest Recruiting Class - Purdue Military Research Institute - Purdue University

PMRI kicked off the 2026 academic school year with our PMRI Fall Welcome, bringing together our new and returning student officers, their families, and the PMRI team to build and grow our PMRI community on campus.

This year marks PMRI's second largest fall class since its 2014 inception, supporting 92 students pursuing graduate degrees at Purdue. The cohort includes 44 new officers and 48 returning officers, with 21 pursuing PhDs and 71 pursuing Master’s degrees.

The Fall Welcome gives students an opportunity to meet the PMRI team, connect with officers pursuing similar areas of study, and build relationships with other student officers serving in same military branch.

With many officers bringing their families, the gathering also provides an opportunity to create connections beyond the classroom and laboratory.

The PMRI Fall Welcome marks the beginning of another year of research, collaboration, and professional development for PMRI's student officers at Purdue University.
