This section lists the awardees of the Monika Ivantysynova award. This award recognizes individuals with early association with Purdue (as student, post doc, visiting researcher, junior faculty) that have distinguished themselves for career achievements in fluid power and related industry.

The award is dedicated to Prof. Monika Ivantysynova, one of the most accomplished individuals ever existed in fluid power, and founder of the Maha Fluid Power Research Center.

The award consists of an engraved bronze medal dedicated to Monika Ivantysynova, in a wooden frame, and it is given every two years, in occasion of the Maha Fluid Power Conference at Purdue University

The next round for nominations will occur in occasion of the 2026 Maha International Fluid Power Conference. More information will be available prior the event at this webpage.

  • Robert Rahmfeld (PhD, 2002), (visiting scholar at Purdue during 2006 under Dr. Monika Ivantysynova) The award is given “For technology advancements of hydrostatic units and their controls, and for leadership in fostering industry - academic initiatives to promote fluid power."

  • Germano Franzoni (PhD, 2007), (visiting scholar at Purdue during 2006 under Dr. Monika Ivantysynova) The award is given “For contribution to the advancement of fluid power technology in industry, and for dedication to fluid power education and mentoring of young engineers”
