Engineering Success Center offers tutoring, academic networking and collaborative spaces for Purdue Engineering students

The core goal of the Engineering Success Center (ESC) at Purdue University is to help students take ownership of their academic journey, from studying and test taking skills to critical thinking and faculty connection.
ESC aims to foster a culture of collaborative learning through peer-to-peer engagement and meaningful faculty-student connections. It’s also a space for students to work together: Individual, quiet study spaces and large-screen collaboration stations are available to engineering students from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in Lambertus Hall 2235.
“Through engagement with our center, students will be able to cultivate academic resilience while developing the technical skill set required to thrive in engineering,” said Jessica Perkins, a staff member overseeing the development of ESC offerings. “We’ll facilitate faculty-student connections by providing community-style learning opportunities, deep dives into targeted course concepts, discussion that strengthens the connection between course concepts and real-world application, and exam preparation strategies.”
The ESC offers services for all engineering students:
- Free tutoring programs: Free tutoring by engineering students, for engineering students, available online and in person by schedule or via walk-ins. Tutors are Purdue Engineering students and can be booked online.
- Mission Modules: Engineering Concept Workshops: Engineering faculty present concept workshops to students regarding core course material.
- ESC Exam Prep Sessions: Frequent course workshops are available for students to practice exam problems, hone their problem-solving skills and learn new review strategies from faculty facilitators.
- CARES Weekly Hour: Hosted by ESC, students can stop by for conversation and resources with Community, Assistance and Resources for Engineering Students (CARES) therapists.
