About the Sheet Metal Studio

Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Sheet Metal Studio, the place where virtual design comes to life as a physical reality.

The Sheet Metal Studio has a range of different equipment suitable for basic sheet metal fabrication. Students from all Mechanical Engineering courses have access to this facility.

  • Baileigh Box and Pan Brake (model BB-4012F)
  • Mittler Bros. 24" Ultimate Box and Pan Brake
  • Peck, Stow, & Wilcox 48" Brake (model 152-K)
  • Chicago 48" Foot Shear (model BPO-414-6)
  • Peck, Stow, & Wilcox 30" Roller (model 381)
  • Roper Whitney Punch (model 218)
  • Various hand tools

Students work with staff to understand design for flat pattern layouts and the use of equipment for fabrication.
