Record Breaking Road School

We did it again! The 104th Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo was the largest Road School on record at 3,010 attendees. This year's event included 191 technical sessions involving 375 speakers and moderators. The program had 175 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) available, including 4 hours of Indiana Statutes and Ethics for Professional Engineers.

JTRP Seeds for Success Award

The Seed for Success award recognizes Purdue University research teams who obtain research awards of $1 million or more from external sponsors. JTRP Director, Darcy Bullock, and his team received the Seeds for Success award on October 30, 2017. JTRP has a strong focus on continuous engagement with transportation agencies, sponsors, private sectors, and university colleagues. Many of those accomplishments are shown in the video below, which was shown during the awards dinner.

INDOT Communication Staff Visit

On October 26, 2017, the Joint Transportation Research Program hosted INDOT’s Communication staff from all over the state at Purdue. Highlights of the visit included interacting with Civil Engineering faculty and staff in the Hampton Materials, Concrete, and Traffic Labs. Each lab presented demonstrations on research projects related to relevant INDOT research and implementation.

EVOLVE Field Trip to Port of Indiana- Burns Harbor

On October 25, 2017, members off Indiana Department of Transportation EVOLVE mentoring program and the Joint Transportation Research Program toured the Ports of Burns Harbor in Portage, Indiana.
