2013 Purdue Road School
The 99th Purdue Road School was held March 5-7, 2013. Civil Engineering Professors Darcy Bullock and John Haddock served as co-chairs of the conference that included 138 sessions attended by approximately 2,200 transportation professionals. The Tuesday Opening Session featured Karen Bobo, FHWA; Jerry Wray, Ohio DOT Director; Lloyd Winnecke, Evansville Mayor; and Michael Cline, INDOT, Commissioner.
Immediately following the opening session, participants had an opportunity to meet with vendors and visit student poster sessions.

On Wednesday, March 6th, Purdue Alumnus and Astronaut Mark Brown delivered the keynote address at the 2013 Road School Luncheon. Mark related space program challenges to the similar leadership and teamwork necessary to maintain Indiana's transportation network. Mark's remarks to a packed ballroom on teamwork were both entertaining and inspiring to the luncheon participants.
