2015 Purdue Road School
The 101st Purdue Road School was held March 10-12, 2015. Civil Engineering Professors Darcy Bullock and John Haddock served as co-chairs of the conference that included 126 technical sessions with record of attendance of 2,418 transportation professionals. This year introduced a new name, Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo, to reflect the strong participation from other transportation modes. A new aviation track complimented the rebranding with technical sessions and airport tours led by Purdue aviation student ambassadors.
The Tuesday Opening Sessions featured Blair Milo, Mayor of La Porte; Zachary Scott, UPS Ohio Valley District President; Karl Browning, Indiana Department of Transportation; and Karen Bobo, FHWA Indiana Division Assistant Director.
Once again, participants gathered in the Purdue Memorial Union ballrooms for the exhibitor luncheon and student poster exhibit. There were 52 exhibitors in attendance for the packed house.
The Wednesday Keynote Luncheon kicked off with brief remarks by Purdue President Daniels and then his introduction for Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann. Ellspermann delivered the keynote address along with videos featuring animations of (far) future transportation.
