Vincennes University and Purdue University
are saving a place for you

Vincennes and Purdue make a great team for aspiring engineering students who feel more comfortable in smaller classes and want to earn their education on a budget. Now budding engineers can begin their degree at Vincennes and finish at Purdue. Starting at Vincennes, students are able to save money and have a complete college campus experience before transferring to Purdue. Classes the first two years at Vincennes are small and accessible, and once students choose an engineering discipline, the courses during the final two years at Purdue become more intimate. Ample opportunities abound to actively participate and interact with professors.

Engineering at VU and Purdue

The U.S. has transformed from a source of inexpensive labor to a technological society with an ever increasing need for a workforce with scientific, mathematical and technical expertise. Students who have an interest in science and technology stand the best chance of obtaining productive and successful careers. We educate the students who will frame the future of our community, state, nation and world.

What is engineering?

The work of engineers links scientific discoveries to human needs and to the quality of life. Engineers apply scientific knowledge, mathematics and ingenuity to find solutions for real-world problems, taking into account the limitations imposed by practicality, safety and cost.

Some engineers are responsible for the design of products and new technologies, while others work in the manufacturing, construction or implementation of existing designs. Some sell or service technical equipment while many experienced engineers advance to management positions. There are many engineering specialties that can lead to many career options in Indiana and elsewhere.
