Graduate Degree and Field: M.S. Electrical Engineering

Previous academic institutions: Southern Illinois University - Carbondale (B.S. Electrical Engineering)

Best piece of advice given/received for graduate school: Don't be afraid to reach out to your classmates! It’s a great way to form study groups, make friends, and gain connections. Everyone is here for the same reason: earning a degree, so why not help each other along the way? Collaborating with others can lead to opportunities for research partnerships, professional connections, and even lifelong friendships. Remember, graduate school can be intense and isolating at times, but by fostering a sense of community and mutual support, you’ll likely find the journey to be more rewarding and less daunting.

What I love about GradTrack: Its holistic approach to preparing undergraduate students for graduate school. By focusing on both academic and professional development, it helps students not only excel in their studies but also build a strong foundation for their future careers. GradTrack’s commitment to broadening participation in engineering is crucial for fostering diversity and innovation in the field. Overall, it’s great to see a program that addresses both the technical and personal aspects of graduate school preparation.
