Camille McKinley (BS CompE '81) and Vanessa Watkins Miles (MS EE '91), were honored with awards at the 25th Annual Black Engineer of the Year STEM Global Competitiveness Conference, Feb. 17-19 in Washington, D.C.

Camille McKinley (BS CompE '81) and Vanessa Watkins Miles (MS EE '91), were honored with awards at the 25th Annual Black Engineer of the Year STEM Global Competitiveness Conference, Feb. 17-19 in Washington, D.C.

McKinley received the Modern-Day Technology Leader Award. She is a senior principal software engineer for WMS Gaming, Inc., Waukegan, Ill.

Miles, an engineer for Sandia National Laboratories, Amarillo, Texas, received the Minority in Research Science Trailblazer of the Year Award, given to people "making great advancements in our quality of life ... who are motivated by the spirit of inquiry and by a passion for inclusion."
