SEE student Grigsby found Purdue passion through EPICS
Sophia Grigsby never planned to consider Purdue University.
But while driving by campus to visit her top school several hours away, Grigsby's mother convinced Sophia to give Purdue a shot — even if the then-high schooler was sure that the university was just as quaint as her "small, rural hometown" of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
Grigsby counted down the minutes until she could leave. That is, until the EPICS program was introduced to the group in an information session.
Three years passed. Not a single one without Grigsby, studying environmental and ecological engineering, immersed in an EPICS opportunity. Her project of choice has been Purdue Green Campus, where Grigsby has worked as a communicator, design lead and project manager. As she closes in on senior year, Grigsby conveyed her gratitude — and shared her growth in a heartfelt reflection from her personal LinkedIn account.
