What We Do

ECE Ambassadors runs programming across recruitment, professional development, peer mentorship, and community for students at every stage of their ECE journey.

OUR PROGRAMMING

The First Face of Purdue ECE

We serve as the first point of contact for future Boilermakers. Ambassadors lead building tours of the Max W. & Maileen Brown Family Hall (BHEE) and Materials Science and Electrical Engineering Hall (MSEE), as well as host information sessions such as "Purdue's For Me" and "Introducing Purdue." We provide prospective students and their families with a genuine look into the ECE curriculum, research opportunities, and daily student life.

Bridging Students and Industry

The Ambassadors play a critical role in the department's professional ecosystem. We provide logistical support and student representation for major recruitment milestones, including the Boilermaker Circuit career fair. By bridging the gap between industry partners and the student body, we help ensure ECE students have access to top-tier career opportunities and networking.

Supporting Students at Every Step

Supporting our fellow students is at the core of our mission. We host "Engineering Your Major" (EYM) presentations and "Transition to Major" (T2M) help sessions to guide First-Year Engineering students as they choose their path within ECE. Whether it's explaining the difference between EE and CmpE or helping with registration questions, we are here to help our peers succeed.

Building Connections Beyond the Classroom

Beyond academics, we foster a strong sense of community within the department. Through faculty networking lunches, Women in Engineering (WIE) meet-and-greets, and social mixers, we create spaces for students to connect outside of the classroom. These events build the professional and social networks that define the Purdue ECE experience.
