A Message from Dr. David Corti

Leading with Purpose

David S. Corti, School Head

Welcome to the Charles D. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering!

For more than a century, we have been educating the next generation of chemical engineers, advancing knowledge through discovery and research, and developing solutions to the scientific and technological challenges of our global community. With over 40 distinguished faculty members, including four National Academy of Engineering (NAE) members and two National Medal of Technology recipients, we provide an exceptional environment for learning, research, and innovation. Nearly 800 students have the opportunity to learn directly from our world-renowned faculty while also contributing solutions for some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Chemical engineering is a dynamic and deeply impactful field to embark upon, offering immense rewards and opportunities for growth. Our highly ranked undergraduate, Professional Master's Program, and graduate programs are designed to equip our students with the technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities needed for thriving careers in either industry or academia.

We take great pride in the achievements of the thousands of alumni who have graduated from our School throughout its history. Many have gone on to become influential leaders, researchers, and innovators in chemical engineering and related fields. Through its strong tradition of excellence in education and research, the Charles D. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering continues to prepare students to shape the future of chemical engineering and address the complex challenges of tomorrow.

And as we look ahead to that future, our priorities are clear: recruiting and supporting outstanding faculty, staff, and students, strengthening our undergraduate, Professional Master’s, and graduate programs, and growing our research impact across the globe. We are committed to building a stronger sense of community among our students, faculty, and alumni, investing in Forney Hall and our physical spaces, and upholding safety and sustainability in everything we do — all while continuing to tell the School's story to the world.

Boiler up!
