SK Hynix Delivers Special Lecture on Semiconductor and Memory Technologies to KIAT Students at Purdue

SK Hynix recently delivered a special lecture for 81 students participating in a KIAT summer program at Purdue University, providing students with an inside look at the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry and the technologies shaping the future of artificial intelligence. The lecture was presented by SK Hynix Vice President Choonhwan Kim and SK Hynix West Lafayette CEO Woongsun Lee, who shared their perspectives on the semiconductor industry, emerging technologies, and the future of AI-driven innovation.

The lecture introduced SK hynix’s global business operations and technological competitiveness, with a particular focus on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a critical component in the development of AI computing systems. Students learned about the company’s role in the global semiconductor ecosystem and the growing importance of advanced memory technologies as AI applications continue to expand.

The special lecture provided KIAT students with an opportunity to connect their academic experiences with real-world developments in the semiconductor industry. Through exposure to industry perspectives and emerging technologies, the program helped students deepen their understanding of the semiconductor field and gain insight into potential opportunities in the global technology industry.

The special lecture was organized by the Center of Operation & Research for Industry Advancement (CORIA), directed by Professor Martin Jun, as part of the KIAT Summer Program at Purdue University.
