Purdue Welcomes 81 Students from Korea for Second Annual KIAT Summer Program
Purdue University recently welcomed 81 students from Korea for the second annual four-week summer program sponsored by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). Held from July 13 through August 6, the program provided students with an immersive educational experience combining academic coursework, special lectures, campus activities, and cultural and recreational opportunities.
The program, now in its second year, experienced significant growth from its inaugural year, when 26 students participated. This year's increase to 81 students reflects the continued success of the program and the growing educational partnership between KIAT and Purdue University.
During their four weeks at Purdue, the students participated in three courses - Manufacturing Process, Digital System Design, AI/IOT, providing them with opportunities to learn about an area that continues to play a critical role in global technology and advanced manufacturing. The academic program was further enhanced by special lectures from faculty and industry experts, exposing students to a variety of topics and perspectives related to science, technology, innovation, and higher education.
The CORIA Center, directed by Professor Martin Jun and KIAT representatives worked closely to organize the program and ensure that students had a meaningful and engaging experience throughout their stay at Purdue. Under the leadership of Professor Martin Jun, the CORIA Center continues to support initiatives that strengthen international partnerships and create opportunities for collaboration between Purdue University and Korean institutions.
