CORIA Seminar Series Hosts Michigan State Professor Haseung Chung on High-Production Additive Manufacturing
The CORIA center, directed by Professor Martin Jun, held its second seminar as part of the CORIA Seminar Series, welcoming Professor Haseung Chung from Michigan State University as the featured speaker. The seminar brought together faculty, researchers, and students to discuss emerging innovations in additive manufacturing and explore opportunities for future collaboration between academia and industry.
Professor Chung’s presentation, titled “Development of Scalable and Expeditious Additive Manufacturing (SEAM): A Solution to High Production Additive Manufacturing,” focused on advancing metal additive manufacturing technologies to meet the growing demand for high-volume production. His research highlighted the challenges of competing with traditional manufacturing processes in terms of speed and scalability, despite additive manufacturing’s advantages in producing highly complex and customized metal components.
The CORIA Seminar Series continues to serve as a platform for strengthening research collaboration among universities, research institutes, and industry partners working in advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing technologies. By inviting leading researchers from institutions across the country, the series encourages the exchange of ideas, fosters interdisciplinary partnerships, and creates new opportunities for collaborative research initiatives.
