Life Science selectives are courses approved by the BME curriculum committee that provide additional knowledge in biological and chemical principles to complement engineering coursework. These courses are offered through departments such as Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.
Students are not required to select Life Science courses that align with their primary or secondary depth area. Life Science selectives may be chosen based on individual academic interests, provided they appear on the approved list.
If you would like to request that a course not on the list be considered for one-time approval as a Life Science selective, please contact your primary advisor. Approval requests submitted after the second week of classes will not be considered.
