output files

Two output files are generated by WinCONPOINT:

[filename]BASIC.csv -- this file contains the complete set of input parameters for the entire analysis queue. Also, the computed limit cavity pressure and, if applicable, cone penetration resistance are included. If computations were not completed for a particualr entry in the analysis queue, or an error occured, the output columns will include a brief message indicating why there are no results.

[filename]PLASTIC.csv -- this file contains the radial stress computed for each element during the last iteration when computations were performed. Each result has an ID number in its heading corresponding to the ID number for the corresponding entry in the analysis queue. Only results from completed analyses will be included in this file.

Opening output files

Both output files can be opened using spreadsheet software, such as Excel. If .csv files are registered for your spreadsheet software, double-clicking on them will automatically launch the required application. Otherwise, they can be imported manually using the appropriate tools from within the spreadsheet software.

Comma-sparated value (.csv) files offer two advantages. First, since they can be opened using spreadsheet software, it is possible for the user to perform any additional computations desired on the exisiting data. Second, .csv files are not application-specific, so they can be accessed by a wide range of spreadsheet software.
