GEOTECHNICAL EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING Geotechnical earthquake engineering studies the effects of the dynamic loadings caused by earthquakes on soil masses and geotechnical structures. Some of the problems addressed by this subject include the shaking of level soil deposits, the seismic stability of slopes and retaining structures and soil liquefaction.
