Comparison of Performance of
Several Systems

Classifications of the 'standard' flight line C1 image has been done on several Macintosh computers to compare the relative performance of the systems. The Maximum Likelihood algorithm was used in the classification on an image with 12 channels, 949 lines and 220 columns. Nine classes were used. The classification results were written to a disk file; the classification was not listed in the output text window.

Note that the test is going to have to be modified. It is not 'difficult' enough for the new systems to indicate what the real comparisons are. A signficant part of the time in the test below is spent on I/O.
