Hi everyone! My name is Caitlyn Elizaga and I am the President of the Purdue BMES chapter. I oversee our chapter’s Executive Board in order to implement our goals of (1) serving as an ambassador for BME students, (2) encouraging intellectual and social development, (3) connecting students with peers, faculty, industry, and community, and (4) promoting the ongoing activities of the National BMES Chapter. In addition, I act as a liaison to faculty, administration, and outside organizations, as well as the BME Graduate student program (BMEGSA).

Hello my name is Abigail Russell, and I hold the position of Vice Prescient for Purdue BMES chapter. I serve as a liaison between Purdue BMES and Biomedical Engineering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. I actively participate in faculty DEI meetings, coordinate semesterly Open Forum events, and contribute to organization leadership, growth, and various other support initiatives.

Hi, my name is Joey Schlosser and I am a Junior. I currently serve as the BMES Purdue Secretary in which my main responsibility is to submit to our annual recap to the BMES National Chapter. This is a short review of every event we host during this school year. I also keep the minutes at all of our meetings and help out with different tasks as they come up!

My name is Saahil Varma and I am the Director of Mentorship for Purdue BMES. I get to match sophomore mentees with upperclassman mentors and lead monthly meetings concerning topics pertinent to BME students.

Hi! I am Shaiv Mehra, the Director of Professional Development for Purdue BMES. I work with industry professionals, staff, faculty, and students to plan and host professional development events and technical skills workshops for BME students. Examples of these include: resume reviews, company networking events, and CAD workshops.

My name is Sidney Jachimowicz and I currently serve as the Director of Public Relations for Purdue BMES. In my role, I communicate with the undergraduate student body of BME to distribute advertising and information regarding BMES and campus-wide opportunities through our email notifications and website. Additionally, I work with the local community to engage them with Biomedical Engineering students and faculty from Purdue University.
