Concentration Overview

The Engineering Management concentration offers an area of specialization for students in the Master of Science (MS)/Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Interdisciplinary Engineering degree in partnership with the Mitch Daniels School of Business. This program was created for professionals who wish to build a competitive edge in a wide variety of industries. As a student in this program, you will focus heavily on increasing engineering and technical skills, particularly at the systems level, while building strategic management skills associated with leadership in the global marketplace.

You'll learn from the same renowned faculty who teach on campus and graduate with an MS/MSE from Purdue. You will also be eligible to receive a certificate in Business Essentials. If you would like to recive the Business Essentials certificate while completing your studies, you will need to apply here.

Candidates interested in a more extensive engineering and business education opportunity can explore our Dual Master's in Engineering and Master in Business Administration (MBA) Degree. If a student pursues the Engineering Management concentration, they are not eligible to pursue the Dual Degree program. If a student pursues the Dual Degree program, they are not eligible to receive the Buessiness Essentials certificate.

Degree Requirements

The Interdisciplinary Engineering (MS or MSE) degree with an engineering management concentration requires a total of 30 credit hours with at least 18 credits of graduate level engineering courses from Purdue University, 9 credits from the Daniels School of Business and 3 credits of engineering electives.

Creating Your Plan of Study

The MS/MSE master's programs offer a wide range of flexibility in course options. After you begin your studies at Purdue, an academic advisor will help you create an electronic plan of study (EPOS) to best fit your educational needs and career goals.  
 
Students enrolled in a dual degree program will have a unique electronic plan of study for each degree they are seeking.      
 
The student is ultimately responsible for knowing and completing all degree requirements. This website is a knowledge source for specific requirements and completion.
