About Our Work
Founded in 1948, Zucrow Labs is the largest academic propulsion lab in the world. Our 24-acre campus hosts world-class research facilities in combustion, turbines and compressors, energetic materials, hypersonics, aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and more. We are also home to Purdue Propulsion.
We stand out from other academic propulsion research labs not only in our size and scope. Zucrow is unique because students run it. Our student researchers actually build their equipment and operate their own tests. Rigorous safety protocols and oversight ensure no risk to people and minimal risk to our facilities.
This hands-on approach is at the core of our mission. Our product is people.
