From High School to College

Before coming to Purdue I was a straight A student. I was heavily involved with extracurriculars that were meaningful to myself, but I stayed in my comfort zone. I also lacked confidence in some of my abilities, believing the haters and their hurtful words. Fast forward to my time at Purdue. Since arriving on campus I have learned, tried different things, and have failed. It hasn’t always been pretty, but I have gained something from every experience. From exploring my talents and passions to learning how I study best, I have grown a lot happier with myself. My advice to prospective students is to live in the moment. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to have your life figured out before college (or even when you’re here tbh). You don’t have to worry about being the only one who is struggling. From my friends to the many resources at Purdue, I’ve been able to be the person I want to be while also getting a great degree. I’ve learned to reach out for help. I’ve learned how to ask for advice. And above all, I’ve learned how to persevere. Don’t ever give up! Keep on, keeping on. I promise you, it will be so worth it. If any of this resonated with you, please know Purdue University is an incredibly supportive institution that will challenge you but also has many ways to get help if need be. ❤️
