Purdue Residence Halls
Residence Halls are a key component of a university’s culture, and Purdue’s “res halls” are some of the best in the business. The University Residence’s website will be your best source of information on each hall and their amenities, but there are few key areas you should consider while debating how to fill out your housing application:
- Cost of Housing
- Distance to Academic Campus
- Distance to Dining Halls
- Ammenitites: A/C, study rooms, personal vs. communinal restrooms
- Number of Roommates
- Living Learning Communities
“I’m a huge proponent of Learning Communities! They help make a huge university smaller to easily find friends… They give you more focus and you’re generally with like-minded people which can help your development a lot.” – Mahera Husain, Resident Assistant
Many people find one or two of these criteria to be more important to them personally, and those factors drive their decisions. There’s certainly no singular “best” residence since they all have their unique strengths and weaknesses. So, you should pick what works best for you.
