Equipment
The Lin Research Group is located at Purdue University’s urban campus in Indianapolis. The group occupies two adjacent biosafety level 2 (BL2) laboratories (SL214 and SL216) with a total area of ~1,300 sq. ft. SL214 contains equipment for polymer synthesis, modification, purification, and characterization. SL216 contains equipment for tissue culture, hydrogel preparation, biofabrication, microscopes, and apparatus for molecular biology. Major equipment includes:
Chemical synthesis:
Two 6-ft fume hoods with vacuum/gas dual manifold; Buchi rotary evaporator; Branson® S-450 Sonifier digital ultrasonic processor and acoustic sound enclosure; CEM Discover 2.0 microwave synthesizer; Labconco bench-top lyophilizer; Flammable storage refrigerator and freezer.
Hydrogel preparation and biofabrication:
Photopolymerization equipment and light sources (e.g., UV and visible light lamps, Omnicure S2000 UV spot light curing systems); UVP Crosslinker CL-3000L; Cellink BIOX 3D bioprinter; Cellink Lumen X+ 3D bioprinter; 5 syringe pumps.
Materials characterization:
Anton Paar MCR 102e rheometer with DMA accessories; Bohlin CVO digital rheometer with UV and visible light cure modules; CellScale MicroTester G2; PreSens Microx 4 fiber optic oxygen transmitter, sensors, and VisiSens oxygen imaging system.

Cell culture
One 9-ft, two 6-ft tissue culture laminar flow hoods; Hypoxia incubator chamber and flow meter; Five sets of CO2 incubators; Liquid nitrogen and cryogenic storage; Countess® II FL automated cell counter.
Imaging
BioTek Lionheart FX automated live cell imager; Cellink Cellcyte X automated live cell imager; ECHO Discover Rebel microscope; Nikon Ti inverted optical microscope with epifluorescence attachment and a CCD camera; Oxford Instruments Andor BC43 benchtop confocal microscope.
Cell and molecular biology:
Apparatus for gel electrophoresis and Western Blotting; Bio-Rad T100 thermal cycler; AirClean® AC600 Series PCR Workstations with HEPA-filtered air & UV light irradiation; BioTek 50 TS plate washer; Eppendorf epMotion 5070m liquid handling workstation; Nanodrop 2000; DS-11 FX+ Microvolume/Cuvette Spectrophotometer and Fluorometer; Synergy HT multi-mode microplate reader; Molecular Device SpectraMax iD5 multi-mode microplate reader; QuantStudio 3 real-time PCR machine. Namocell Pala single cell sorter.
