Japan-U.S. Global Leadership Program in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Laboratory Exchange / Internship Program (Summer 2026)

May-August 2026: Hiroshima University

Hiroshima University invites applications for the Japan–U.S. Global Leadership Program in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This program aims to foster globally minded students who can contribute to a future society in which humans and AI coexist, through hands-on research and internship experiences in Japan. The program is conducted in collaboration with three leading U.S. universities: The University of Texas at Austin (UT), Arizona State University (ASU), and Purdue University. Participants will gain practical experience in research laboratories, university administration, or private-sector organizations, while also engaging in cultural and professional activities in Hiroshima and other regions of Japan.

Hiroshima University, an UPWARDS partner, invites 12 Purdue students to participate in their summer program.

Program fees (lectures, company visits, chartered buses) are provided by Hiroshima University. They will also cover approximately $900.00 of the total cost of the international flight. You are responsible for securing international medical insurance, covering a portion of the airfare and approximately $500.00 for room and board expenses.
