Steven Schneider, professor of aeronautics and astronautics, is an internationally recognized and highly respected authority on the subject of laminar-turbulent transition in hypersonic boundary-layer flows.

He was elected a member of the 2018 class of The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Fellows. His expertise has guided and contributed to numerous government programs and international technological collaborations in hypersonics. Only 22 individuals were elected as fellows this year. Of those, only seven were from academia.
