Welcome to the webpage of the Embedded Systems Laboratory (ESL). We are a part of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Purdue University. Our research focuses on advancing energy-efficient, intelligent, and secure embedded systems through innovations spanning devices, architectures, and applications.
Our recent work emphasizes context-aware and adaptive AI acceleration for edge devices, battery-free and energy-harvesting IoT platforms, efficient execution of emerging ML models such as graph neural networks and state-space models on NPUs, secure and reliable autonomous systems, and collaborative distributed inference across resource-constrained devices.
Through these efforts, ESL is shaping the next generation of embedded intelligence — systems that are ultra-low power, adaptive, secure, and sustainable, enabling pervasive AI for IoT, edge, and cyber-physical platforms.
