Project Management Essentials for Engineers, Scientists, and Innovators Seminar
Fabian Rieckenberg, PhD, project controlling manager at Evonik, will be presenting on "Project Management Essentials for Engineers, Scientists, and Innovators." The seminar is April 14, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering (ARMS), Room 1101.
Rieckenberg will distill over 12 years of international experience in large-scale project management into four key areas:
- The management triangle: examining the interplay between scope, time and cost for project success.
- Project and product life cycle: highlighting the stages of project development and the importance of life cycle management.
- Project performance measurement via earned value method: introducing Earned Value Management (EVM) for quantifying project performance.
- Scheduling, Gantt charts and critical path analysis: presenting essential scheduling techniques for effective project execution.
This presentation aims to equip the next generation of engineers and innovators with vital project management skills to enhance their leadership in future initiatives.
