Anuj,

This is the first I've heard of your interest in XRD, but we can certainly train you. I see you've completed the online safety training-have you submitted the A-4 form to David Meyer/had him sign it yet?

I'll include my full instructions I give all new XRD users (some of which you have already done):

"REM requires everyone who uses an XRD to take the "X-Ray Safety Training: Analytical & Diagnostic" course.  The training can be done online: http://www.purdue.edu/rem/rs/rstrain.htm#XT. This will have to be completed and the A-4 form signed (Project Director: Dave Meyer-ARMS 2309) and submitted to REM and processed before you can do the training on the D-8.

You will also need a Coral billing/user account set up if you do not already have one. All new users must have their PI go through: https://engineering.purdue.edu/Coral and use the account request link. The form collects the appropriate data and it is then validated by the business office. Users are sent confirmation and access instructions.

All users are also required to sign up for the email distribution list for the machine (https://engineering.purdue.edu/ECN/mailman/listinfo/mse-bruker-d8-list) to report machine issues, cancelled reservations, etc. Anyone found using the machine and not signed up for the list and/or not reporting machine issues, etc. to the list may lose user privileges.

Hi,
 This is a third reminder for setting up a time for XRD training. I have a few zeolite powder samples which I can get for the training. I would be grateful if I can be trained on the XRD unit in Armstrong. My boss has already setup a coral account and I have cleared the radiation safety exam.
 If I do not get a response on this email by tomorrow morning, I will be forced to talk to the PI of the X-Ray facility at Armstrong. I sent my first email on November 21. In that email I expressed my desire to get trained on the XRD unit, but I got no response. Yesterday, I had sent a second reminder. I believe that I followed all the instructions on the website (https://engineering.purdue.edu/MSE/Research/Facilities/XRayFacility/index.html)

Jameson: I included you on this email based on the recommendation of one of my colleagues who got trained on that XRD.
