Please remember to complete the Research Acknowledgement requirement for your advisees that are registering for CE 69800 or CE 69900 (directions attached). We highly recommend that you document the research expectations to the students in writing.

Subject: [GRADCONTACTS] Compliance on Policy Regarding Expectations for Research Credit

Hello Everyone,

Faculty listed as the instructor of record for any research courses numbered 59800, 59900, 69800, 69801 or 69900, or faculty supervising TECH 64000 research, need to communicate (preferably in writing) the minimum expectations for satisfactory completion of the research to each registered student within the first two weeks of the term. Once that communication has happened, the faculty member also needs to record completion of this communication through the Research Acknowledgement checkbox in myPurdue by January 24, 2025.

The instructions for this process are attached and have also been posted on the Graduate Student Records Office Teams Channel under Files/General Resources. I have also attached a list of faculty who are currently listed as supervising research for spring.

As a reminder, all students doing research utilizing faculty direction or consultation and/or requiring the use of University facilities need to register for research credit(s) in proportion to their expected efforts each term. Failing to properly register may have negative repercussions such as additional fees or delays in academic progress, so please make sure students in your area are in compliance regarding their research registration.

Thank you, and best wishes as we begin a new session!

Best,

Nicole
