Prof Hyun and Dankook University Team Visit Purdue for GITCC-Funded Project Kickoff

Professor Hyun from Dankook University College of Medicine, South Korea, and his research team visited Purdue University for the kickoff meeting of a newly launched international collaboration. The project aims to develop electroceutical therapies using biodegradable semiconductor technology for the functional recovery of patients with spinal cord injury (SCI).

This ambitious initiative, jointly led by research teams in Korea and the United States, was recently awarded approximately $4.7 million in R&D funding by the Global Industrial Technology Cooperation Center (GITCC), with support from the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).

The kickoff meeting provided an opportunity to align research objectives, discuss implementation strategies, and formalize the collaborative framework between Purdue University and Dankook University. The partnership is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation implantable systems that deliver targeted electrical stimulation while safely degrading in the body.
