KIAT-CORIA virtual seminar showcases Dr. Euiwon Bae’s research on Light Scattering Technologies

The KIAT-CORIA Seminar was held virtually, bringing together a diverse audience from academia, industry, and research institutes in both the United States and Korea. As part of the seminar program, Dr. Euiwon Bae from Purdue University delivered a featured presentation titled “Applications of Light Scattering Technologies: From Semiconductor Inspection to Biological Sample Analysis.”
In his talk, Dr. Bae highlighted several areas of his research, including advanced scattering methods for semiconductor inspection, elastic laser scattering for biomedical characterization, and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for food analysis. These technologies have demonstrated the broad applicability of light scattering approaches across both industrial and academic domains.
The seminar drew nearly thirty participants, including faculty members from the University of North Texas and Purdue University, researchers from the Kiel Institute, company representatives such as the former CEO of SBB, experts from Autonics and QuantumBionics, and graduate students from Purdue University, Dankook University, and other institutions.
This seminar was co-organized by Professor Martin Byung-Guk Jun, Director of CORIA, and Hwan Il Yoo, Chief representative of KIAT U.S. office. With their cooperation, the KIAT-CORIA seminar series will be continued for global collaboration. This event reinforced the role of KIAT-CORIA seminars as a platform for knowledge exchange and international collaboration across disciplines.
