Thank you for 40 years!

BMWC ConstructorsBMWC Constructors is proud to be one of the founding construction firms (then known as Baker, McHenry & Welch) of the CEM program at Purdue. BMWC’s founder Jack Baker was instrumental in encouraging Purdue to develop a curriculum specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the construction industry. Soon after, Purdue formed the division of Construction Engineering and Management.

Forty years of success is a wonderful accomplishment, and BMWC has benefited immensely from the knowledge and experience that Purdue CEM graduates bring to our company each year.

Started as a small mechanical contractor, BMWC is now a company that tackles some of the toughest, most demanding industrial construction projects across North America. We find solutions where others can’t and strive to develop “Customers for Life.” Our work encompasses a wide array of industrial sectors, including aerospace, chemical, electric power, food and beverage, industrial gases, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, refining and semiconductor. We strive to be in the forefront of industry innovations and best practices, and we constantly search for new ways to increase project value for our customers.

From Jack Baker to our current CEO Brian Acton (1984 CEM graduate), BMWC has found great success through our partnership with Purdue’s CEM program. We believe that a company’s success is based on its people—and its leadership. We know the CEM graduates we hire bring with them a balance of classroom fundamentals and on the job expertise. In addition to our CEO, we have 10 other CEM graduates and three interns who play integral roles across all regions of the country, helping BMWC continue to build state-of-the-art projects for Fortune 500 clients in virtually every industry.

We are extremely proud of the contributions that Jack Baker and other BMWC leaders have made to Purdue’s CEM program for their vision, dedication and unwavering support to future generations of construction professionals. From humble beginnings to innovative construction processes today, BMWC is grateful for the continued leadership, inspiration and work ethic that is witnessed every day by our interns and graduates of Purdue’s CEM program. We sincerely thank you and congratulate you on 40 years of success!
