This summer, Trevor Stoyer was part of a winning team. He played mellophone with the Boston Crusaders as they captured the title at the Drum Corps International 2025 World Championships in Indianapolis.

Originally from Syracuse, New York, Trevor has balanced a full plate at Purdue: studying aerodynamics, performing in the “All-American” Marching Band and Boiler Brass, and contributing to the Purdue Aerial Robotics Team. When he’s not playing French horn or mellophone, he’s skiing, snowboarding, or hanging out with his dog, Melli, and cat, Thanos.

About Trevor

Do you participate in any similar groups here at Purdue?
I am in the "All-American" Marching Band at Purdue as well as Boiler Brass, the Men's Basketball pep band. In the spring, I also take part in indoor ensembles.

How did you end up with the Boston Crusaders?
I have marched at a few corps, actually. I started at the Spartans, which was an Open Class corps at the time. I did one summer at the Madison Scouts. I set my sights on the Boston Crusaders because I loved their recent show designs.

What’s one thing that’s been great about your experience here?
I'm very glad I chose to study at Purdue. I love that the campus feels like a home and honestly leaving is going to be tough. Everyone around is so friendly.
