JT8D
The premiere engine for narrow-body jetliners in the past, the JT8D is still
in production, though better engines have eclipsed it in its original
application. It was the original engine on the 727 in 1964. Pratt also
makes kits to bring older JT8D engines into compliance with modern noise and
environmental regulations. There have been many models; these are only a
sample.
