Dr. Michael Grant joined the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University in 2012 as an assistant professor. He leads research and educates in the areas of hypersonic performance, multidisciplinary design, guidance development, and pinpoint landing to support planetary exploration and missions of national interest. He is responsible for graduate and undergraduate eduction in aerospace design, optimal control, and hypersonic performance. Dr. Grant developed a new, integrated methodology to enable rapid simultaneous hypersonic aerodynamic and trajectory optimization to support conceptual design while at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2006-2012.

Dr. Grant received his BS in Aeronuatical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 2005, MS in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008, and PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2012. He is married to Jennifer who is a surgery resident in Chicago.
