Amrit Palaria's Biography
Amrit Palaria has been with the Klimeck research group as a PhD student since 2005. Before joining Klimeck group, Amrit received his Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, U.S.A.
Amrit's research is focused on the modeling and simulation of nanostructures and surface and strain effects using ab initio methods and tight binding. For a brief overview, see:
In particular, during his tenure in the Klimeck group, he worked on the following research projects:
- Geometry morphology and properties of 1 nm silicon nanowires from DFT and MD. The work is published in [J_2008_21]
- Adapting tight binding for non-bulk bonds. The work is published in [P_2008_6]
- Electronic properties of Si-Ge-Si heterostructures from tight binding.
- Developing nanoHUB Applications related to material and electronic simulations.
Amrit also has a contributor web page on nanoHUB.org.
