Genetically Engineered NanoElectronic Structues GENES

We are currently genetic algorithms for the optimization, analysis and synthesis of nanoelectronic devices and materials and microelectronic filters.

Genetic algorithms are based on the statistical survivals of individuals of a given population. Individuals are ranked by comparison to a particular fitness function, new individuals are created through genetic evolution processes such as mutation and crossover. Please see links on the left panel for more detailed eplanations of a genetic algorithm.

Below you can see the evolution of 100 individuals on a rugged surface of two displaced unequally weighed 2-D sinc functions. The objective is to find the maximum point in this 2-D surface.
