- Aug 17: Scope of the class: This class is a good mix of theory (about 25%; how to apply probability and statistics to analyze computer systems, use modeling tools to get a quick estimate of the reliability of a system) and systems (about 75%; design, develop, and test software systems, with an eye to reliability, availability, and security properties, a semester-long course project that often leads to publications).
